Welcome

At First Baptist Church of Heath we love our community (Heath, Newark, Granville & beyond)! It is an honor for us each time a new person or a new family chooses to visit with us on a Sunday morning.

We want your first experience at our church to be the best experience it can be.

You will find friendly people who are genuinely glad you are here. You will experience spirit-filled worship and solid, practical Bible teaching. You will discover a safe place for your children to learn and thrive. And it is our hope that you will find a spiritual home among our people.

Read through the information on this page. If you have unanswered questions, we want to know. Contact us on our Question and Feedback page or just pick up the phone and call us (740-522-5245). Give us a chance to share the love of Christ with you.

Questions and Answers…

What time should I arrive?

Connect groups begin @ 9:30am.
Our Sunday morning service begins @ 10:45am

We recommend you arrive ten minutes prior to the beginning of the service so you can park and find a seat. If you will be checking-in preschoolers or children into our age-focused services for the first time, then come a little earlier so we can assist you with that.

Where should I park?

There is an easy to use map of our campus above (or click here). The best way to find a good parking place is to drive through the North Entrance and proceed to the parking lot behind the worship center. There are parking places designated for our first-time guests. From there you will be able to easily access the worship center. There is a welcome center right inside the main entrance of the worship center. Friendly people will be available to assist you.

What entrance should I use?

There is an easy to use map of our campus above (or click here). If you have children that you would like to drop off for our kid focused ministries, then come in the KidCentral entrance through the Preschool or Children Station. Otherwise, come into the Main Entrance. Either way, you will find a welcome center and friendly people to assist you.

What should I wear?

You are welcome at FBC Heath just as you are. We have people wear coat and tie, and we have people wear jeans and t-shirt, and we have everything in between. We meet together to worship the Lord and fellowship with other believers. It’s never about what people wear.

How long is the service?

Our services are approximately one hour and fifteen minutes. If you have children or preschoolers in age-focused ministries, the timing of those ministries will always match the timing of the main worship service.

Where do I sit?

You can sit wherever you feel comfortable in our Worship Center, from the front row on the main floor to the back row of the balcony. If you have difficulty locating a seat, our ushers are available to assist you.

Where will my children go?

You are always welcome to keep your children with you in the service.  We also have created great environments specifically geared to provide your children with a fun and safe Bible learning and worship experiences.  Infants through kindergartners meet in the KidCentral Preschool Station which can be accessed directly from the parking lot  and from the Worship Center.  Kids in grades 1st through 5th meet in the KidCentral Children Station located in the Family Life Center.  Click here to see a map for KidCentral.

How can I connect with a pastor?

Our pastors are generally available before the 9:30 connect groups and after the 10:45 service for brief times of meet and greet. Don’t be shy, introduce yourself. They are there to meet new people. You are their priority.

If you would like an extended time to ask questions or receive counsel, please contact the church office and set-up an appointment.

What will happen in the service?

The service includes a time of singing and a time of teaching. You will enjoy the music, and you will learn something life-changing in the teaching. If you can bring a Bible, it will be helpful, but because we utilize large screens in our singing and teaching, you will be fine either way. There is nothing you need to do, except come with an expectant heart.

How can I ask a question before I arrive?

Visit our Contact Page. Let us know how we can help your first visit be the best it can be. A pastor will contact you by email or phone.

Is there wheel chair access?

Yes. Refer to the campus map above (or click here). It is best to park in the 30th St. parking lot and use that entrance. Friendly people will be available to assist you at that door before each service.

How are children kept safe and secure?

The safety and security of your kids is paramount to our KidCentral ministry.  To accomplish this task, we use a secure computerized check-in system at both Preschool and Children Stations.  Once checked-in, each child receives a name tag with a security code.  Parents receive their own tag with the matching security code.  For convenience, you can check-in all of your kids at Preschool or Children Station.
